Perhaps Love (simplified Chinese: 如果·爱; traditional Chinese: 如果·愛; pinyin: Rúguǒ. Ài) is a 2005 film directed by Peter Chan, written by Oi Wah Lam and Raymond To, and choreographed by Farah Khan. It is funded by Astro Shaw and TVB, and is distributed by Celestial Pictures.
Sypnosis
A Mainland director Nie Wen decides to make a film musical starring his Mainland girlfriend Sun Na and Hong Kong actor Lin Jian-dong "/wiki/Takeshi_Kaneshiro" . Unknown to him, Sun has met Lin before ten years ago when she was a singer in . The two had a relationship together then, when Lin was a film student. Ten years later, now a huge movie star, she refuses to acknowledge they have met before.
Nie envisages the materials to the musical, which include a plot where a girl loses her memory and comes to live with a circus troupe. Sun plays the amnesiac girl and Lin her boyfriend who tries to bring back her memories. As the shooting of the movie starts, reel life and real life begin to overlap and merge. Lin tries desperately to win back the lost love of Sun, while Nie discovers their past romance and that it has rekindled. Nie himself plays the role of the obsessive circus owner in the musical who is involved in a love triangle. Just like in real life, he has Lin as his rival.
Ji Jin-Hee plays Monty, a character who plays a number of different roles in the movie (such as a noodle shop owner and a reporter).
