호우시절(好雨時節) "Season of Good Rain" is an upcoming new film directed by Jin-ho Hur (Christmas in August / Happiness) and stars Korean actor Woo-sung Jung (the Good from The Good, The Bad, The Weird) and Chinese actress Yuanyuan Gao. The film was originally intended as a short film segment in the upcoming omnibus film "Chengdu, I Love You". Jin-ho Hur then decided to turn his short film segment it into a full length movie, based on its commercial appeal (he even stated that this may be his best film to date).

Meanwhile, "Chengdu, I Love You" is set to premiere at this year's Venice Film Festival. If you look at their website, the Venice Film Festival lists "Chengdu, I Love You" as 78 minutes in length (the film was originally slated to have 3 segments with each segment running about 30 minutes) and the festival lists only Fruit Chan & Cui Jian as directors and does not list Woo-sung Jung or Yuanyuan Gao as part of the cast. Earlier on Korean websites Jin-ho Hur was reported as saying he would re-edit a shortened version of the full length movie for "Chengdu, I Love You." Now, it looks like "Season of Good Rain" will only be a full length film and not included in the omnibus film (possibly pissed off the producers?). Anyways a teaser is out for "Season of Good Rain" and it looks great. Fans of romance should keep an eye out for this film - it's slated to come out in Korea this October.
